AP STUDIO ART- PHOTOGRAPHY PORTFOLIO (Need Approval)

For 11th or 12th grade only. This is a demanding class that requires a highly motivated, independent and talented student. Students complete 2 parts of an art portfolio called Quality & Concentration. This includes a total of 20 photographs of art the whole year. There is approx. a photograph due each week and a half. However, completing the summer assignments will alleviate the workload during the year. The concentration section is 15 photos based on one theme and then uploaded digitally to college board.  The quality section is 5 printed photos and these are the only 5 pieces you need to physically send in. The entire submission of the portfolio is the test. Students must spend a lot of time outside of school photographing and planning.

ART DESIGN

Art class explores the basic design principles and sources of design inspiration fundamental to all visual arts. In this class you will be encouraged to use your talent and creativity to create different projects and submissions for shows and contests. The 1st and 2nd semester covers painting, drawing, collage,mixed media and more. The 3rd semester covers photography and the final semester covers 3D sculpture work.


3D (SCULPTURE/CERAMICS)

3D is a new class at ISPA. is an introductory course in ceramics, woodwork, plastics, building sculptures from different materials and more. We  cover basic methods of techniques. Students will learn the basic vocabulary of sculpture as well as methods of surface treatment, firing, working a kiln and other related aspects. Students will get to make cups, bowls, sculptures, sculptures and pieces from different traditions and countries, along with personalized works to name a few projects.
